ISM University of Management and Economics, one of the region's leading private business universities, required a comprehensive navigation system for their new headquarters in Vilnius' historic Central Post Office building, opened in 2023. The primary challenge was honoring the architectural heritage of two distinct eras—19th-century neo-renaissance and 20th-century modernism—while reflecting the university's progressive values. We developed a navigation approach that bridges historical respect with contemporary innovation, creating a system that spans across architectural edges rather than conforming to traditional grid constraints. Drawing inspiration from the original mailboxes found in the building's hall, we established a design foundation that celebrates the architectural heritage. The navigation icons deliberately break free from conventional grid systems, extending across structural edges to create visual continuity throughout the historic spaces. The navigation system not only guides visitors through the space but reinforces the university's brand identity, turning wayfinding into a reflection of their innovative approach to business education.

The authentic post office mailbox became the foundation of the navigation system, which is applied as a module in different situations.
